Hi, I’m Shelly. 
I consider it an honor that you would stop by for a visit.
My heart is that the words you find here might offer you hope, comfort, and encouragement. That these words and pictures and the sharing of life might inspire you to love deeper, believe bigger, and hold on to hope more fiercely. That you might find courage to start living life today, right where you are, and not waste another minute waiting for it to begin. And most of all, that somehow, somewhere, tucked in the middle of these pages, you might hear God’s voice speaking to your heart, encouraging you to draw nearer to Jesus as He reveals to you His great love.
A few facts about me are:
- I am a wife of 28 years.
- I am a forty-something mother of 3
- I am a writer of words.
- I’m mostly optimistic.
- I am a lover of leopard print anything (if you follow me on IG, you already know this).
- I am a picky eater (and please don’t make me eat seafood).
- I lose my keys and cell phone a lot.
- If I don’t write something down, I forget it. No string on my finger would help.
- I’m a coffee drinker.
- My house is not spotless or large or dreamy, but it’s home.
- I am a recovering people-pleaser.
- I love to encourage others with words and gifts (probably why people-pleasing comes naturally).
I am currently homeschooling my 4th grader (not sure how long this will last).I am a former homeschool mama.- I once grew my own pumpkins.
- I like to craft and sometimes paint and always take too many pictures.
- I love books and clothes and shoes and bargain shopping.
- I have lived in the same small Texas town my whole life (except for one very short semester away at college).
- I got pregnant at 19 and before marriage.
- I make too many mistakes and I have to start over a lot.
- I sometimes get frustrated and yell but I’m working on that.
- I feel like I’m in confession here.
- I’m going to stop now.
